Combining a website revamp with social media and ecommerce has helped Latimer’s Seafood Deli reach new customers whilst improving their relationship with current ones.

As a current customer of ours from 6 years ago, Latimer’s came to Urban River for a web update and found out the true potential of adding social media to their current strategy.

By taking advantage of the instant message opportunities of Twitter, Latimer’s are now able to keep their Twitter followers updated with the latest ‘Catch of the Day’ news.

By using a mobile app via WordPress, our content management system, Latimer’s are able to photograph the newest catch, add a message and then post the update straight to their website.

The image and message is also forwarded to Twitter so followers get the news immediately.

Buying vouchers online

Gift vouchers available for any amount

Gift vouchers available for any amount

After incorporating e-commerce, fans of Latimer’s food can purchase gift vouchers online via the site itself.

Once the e-voucher is received and printed, the gift receiver takes it to Latimer’s Deli counter where the QR code is scanned. This checks the voucher is valid and the customer can spend their voucher!

As well as the website update, Latimer’s were keen to get this new feature added to their site to give customers a new way to interact with the company.

What Latimer’s said:

Ailsa Latimer, Co-Owner of Latimer’s Seafood Deli, said “Robert and I revisited Urban River about adding a gift voucher element. We were then  introduced to the capabilities of social media and updating the website through our mobile phones which we find extremely beneficial to promoting Latimer’s as a company.

As a result, we’re getting positive feedback from customers about the new site; the modernised system has revolutionised how we use it and we update the content at least twice a week now as opposed to sometimes every couple of months! What I like about Urban River is the human element, I like being able to ring if I have a problem and pop in and see someone with my computer to get them to show me how to get the best out of the new technology.”
