Steve Mayes is a highly skilled and successful architectural photographer based in the North East.
Steve’s existing website looked very dated and did not feature very many of his great pictures. Also, the old CMS meant adding news and images to the site was time-consuming and hard work.
Urban River’s objectives from Steve were to design a clean, neat and fresh website which would showcase his best work and allow him to make changes and updates quickly and easily.
Steve's old website
We produced a contemporary and enticing website which is appealing to any visitors browsing Steve’s portfolio.
The website allows visitors to browse the portfolio by sectors that Steve has been commissioned to photograph.
Viewing commissions and prints at the click of a mouse.
The variety of images highlights Steve’s diversity and talent in a user-friendly way which keeps visitors on the site for as long as possible.
It was important to keep text to a minimum, allowed Steve’s fantastic images to take centre stage throughout.
A blog was incorporated into the website design which means that Steve can update it easily and tell everyone about up-and-coming projects, recent commissions and features in the press.
Many commissions can be viewed in the Archive
An archive going back to 2006 allows visitors to browse a gallery of commissioned projects in more detail. The gallery really shows-off the attention to detail in Steve’s work and how he takes full advantage of angles in and around the structures – be sure to watch out for updates to the 2012 archive!
“As a photographer my new website needed to be visually very strong, but in such a way that the imagery was paramount. Simple but powerful functionality was also very important, along with a sense that the website was designed specifically for me.
Urban River met expectations on all fronts, even dealing with my high demands and changing ideas about design! I look forward to my website drawing in lots of extra business.”
