The Beacon will provide a base for enterprise, training and education as well as forming a social hub for the community. The development stands in a prominent position on Westgate Road and is designed to be an eco-friendly sustainable building.
Uses of The Beacon
The building itself is comprised of training suites, an enterprise centre, artisan units, office space, function suites and a bistro.
As well as the facilities, The Beacon provides a range of services to budding entrepreneurs with support throughout the whole enterprise journey; from initial concept to flying The Beacon Newcastle nest and branching out on their own.
Our aim was to both inform and excite the community prior to the grand opening of the site in Winter 2011 as the locals were aware of the development but had little information as to what was replacing the Old Fire Station on Westgate Road, Newcastle.

To keep the community updated we created a News and Events section, and gave them the opportunity to express their options on what will prove to be an extremely important part of the West End’s regeneration program.
The Construction page also allowed visitors to see how the project has developed over the last year since the demolition started in October 2010.

As well as providing facilities to the West End of Newcastle, the building aims to attract investment and entrepreneurs from the North East to the facilities thus boosting the economy of the whole region.
This also includes helping Young People aged 14-19 by offering them a combination of Education, Employment and Training programmes.
The clean, simple layout of the site lets visitors browse and find the work space which is more suitable to their needs, then contact The Beacon directly.

In addition to floorplans for each section of the building, we included a video to showcase the Function Suite.
It is suitable for large corporate events and special occasions such as birthdays, weddings and christenings and is taking bookings from early 2012 so the video allows potential customer to visualise the space prior to completion.
