8 Food Brands celebrating the Jubilee

Brands around the country are celebrating the Queens Diamond Jubilee by repackaging and creating Jubilee products for the special occasion on 5th June 2012.

We’ve selected our favourite Jubilee packaging efforts from food brands selling everything from cereal to coffee…

We thought we’d begin with Britain’s oldest brand! Lyle’s Golden Syrup, has produced a limited-edition tin to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Is it happy and glorious? We think so.

2. McVitie’s Digestives

I’m sure this attractive packaging will catch your eye next time you’re browsing in your local supermarket! McVitie’s Digestives have been loved in Britain since they were first made in 1876 and we love the adaptation for the Jubilee celebrations too.

3. Weetabix



Rule Britannia… Fuel Britannia… why not! James Thornton’s patriotic poem is now a play on words for cereal brand, Weetabix. Can’t beat a bit of bunting to add even more British-ness to the packet too!

4. Soreen Malt Loaf

A simple and effective design from malt loaf brand Soreen. Originally a recipe from Scotland, the malt loaf brand ensures the country is celebrating the Jubilee as much as England, Wales and Northern Ireland!

5. Marmite



You either love it or hate it… but everyone we’ve spoken to loves Marmite’s design for their Jubilee packaging. We think that their clever adaptation of the word “Ma’am” is a brilliant idea. After having first addressed the Queen as Your Majesty, Ma’am must be used for the remainder of the conversation – fantastic!

6. Douwe Egberts’ Coffee

Stepping back from the brash Union Jack-themed designs, Coffee retailer Douwe Egberts has created a piece of glassware to celebrate with elegance. They have done this by focusing the design of the jar on the Diamond Jubilee emblem!

7. Lindor



No, the chocolatier isn’t British but it’s still great to see other nations celebrating the Jubilee with us. We think the special edition packaging is a great twist on their original branding.

8. Hovis



Everything about this packaging design screams “We’re British” doesn’t it! Aside from the vivid use of the Union Jack, Hovis are also keen to show off that their wheat is 100% British too, bloomin’ marvellous.
