The Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) is a Sport England funded partnership between talented athletes, education institutions and national governing bodies of sport.
TASS helps age 16+ athletes in education to get the very best from their sporting and academic careers without having to choose between the two. The existing literature and promotional material did not match the energy, enthusiasm and drive of the staff and athletes and overall felt a little on the dull side.
TASS approached Newcastle web design agency, Urban River to review and update their existing brand. Starting with the brand guidelines, we created two distinctive styles that could be used throughout all TASS touchpoints, one for corporate material and one targeted towards the athletes themselves.
The corporate style, used mainly for important information and accreditation documents, was designed with a more subtle approach, integrating the TASS star within the athlete photography.
The informal style, used for deliverables aimed at athletes, was designed in a much more colourful and explosive way. This was achieved by using more colours, shapes and unique patterns to give a dynamic and eye-catching feel.
Urban River continue to work with TASS to produce all manner of marketing material for print and screen, including exhibition material and social media graphics.
