The Customs House
Providing creative, design and web support for this leading North East venue which encompasses a theatre /live auditorium, cinema, gallery, restaurant and community arts space with annual visitor numbers exceeding 250,000 per annum.
The Customs House approached Marketing Agency Newcastle Urban River in 2013 to assist with an overhaul of their marketing campaigns and print design support for a wide range of promotions including flyers, banners and outdoor media for individual shows to quarterly events guides. In 2016, we were approached to concept, design and build a completely new website with an improved user experience and fully functional booking system.
We started by evolving a brand identity to promote The Customs House in it’s own right as a leading venue. Over the past four years, we have developed a range of event materials, quarterly events guides, show brands, logos and character illustrations to promote in excess of 100 events annually.
Each featured show requires a variety of print design input to create an individual style aimed at the specific target audience. This typically includes the development of an identity, design material layout and where required illustrations and character development. From shows for under 7’s through to more serious historical dramas, not to mention the leading Panto in the North East, we have delivered it all.
The print design deliverables have become widely recognised and consequently the Customs House events are well supported. Through the use of colour and clear way finding, visitor numbers are on the increase in the face of stiff competition.
The website further extended the overall brand whilst providing clear navigation, a much improved user experience and a highly functional booking system enabling site visitors to find, book and pay for events with the minimum of fuss.
