A Focus on Newcastle Web Design Projects

When it comes to web design in Newcastle, look no further than Urban River. We’ve spent the last 18 years mastering the art of designing and building amazing websites for organisations across the North East and beyond. From eCommerce solutions to stand-out brochure sites – you name it – we’ve done it. Here’s a little look back at some of our favourite Newcastle web design projects.

Charity Web Design

Let’s kick off with one of our most meaningful projects to date: Launchpad. This award-winning charity provides accommodation and support to veterans in Newcastle and Liverpool. When Launchpad appointed us as its Newcastle web design agency, it was clear that they needed a website that effectively provided information to its users clearly and concisely. We took this brief on board and created something that is not only comprehensive and simple to navigate but also slick, modern and fully responsive to any device.

Another project we are proud to have worked on is the fantastic charity Children North East. CNE help families throughout the North East by providing help, advice and support in numerous way. We structured out the user experience and created a fresh and user friendly website. The website is suitable for their target market which helps to get their message out there that they help children to grow up healthy and happy. The website allows users to donate, get involved and shop all on the website.

Rebranding and Websites

Next up, we’re showing off our versatility. We worked with North East geotechnical engineering and site investigation specialists, Northpoint Geotechnical, to transform their online presence. Northpoint, which operates across the UK, calls the North East its home. The company required a rebrand and website design that would match its exceptional reputation in the field. Orange, black and white form the basis of this eye-catching brand, and the website holds a wealth of knowledge about every area of Northpoint’s discipline.

Web Design for Education

You may already know that we specialise in web design for education, having designed and developed a number of websites for schools and colleges across the region. One such project was for John Spence Community High School. Located just outside of Newcastle. John Spence aims to celebrate every pupil in a supportive and inclusive environment. So we needed to make sure this promise was translated online too, with a responsive and accessible website that’s easy to navigate and user-friendly for parent, teachers and pupils alike.

Another education web design project we’re very proud of was for St Wilfrid’s R. C. College. Our neighbours here in South Shields, St Wilfrid’s is an Ofsted-rated Outstanding establishment that required an online presence to meet the high expectations bestowed upon it. The college has both a secondary school and sixth form under one roof, so we needed to consider how this would affect the design and development of the website. We created something that was not only fully Ofsted-compliant, but also a delight to use and very easy to update.

Recently we’ve created a website for Biddick Academy . We began by creating a new brand that would better represent the schools vision and values. We carried out focus groups with staff and pupils and through consultancy produced a brand to be rolled out across the school. We created a new website and marketing materials in support of the new brand. We continue to work with a large amount of schools and academies across the North East and understand what is needed to best represent a school online.

Web Design for NHS

Throughout the years we have worked together with many organisations partnered with the NHS. Such as Wellbeing for Life. We have also designed and build a single online platform which incorporated 4 new NHS websites (Alliance, Gateshead, Newcastle North East and Newcastle West). Using one main design across all 4 sites so that they were instantly recognisable as working together and being linked, we created a look and feel that was very clean, ensuring the content was easy to digest and take in. Each site is a great improvement on what was there before, both from an aesthetic and functional point of view, ensuring NHS customers receive a great user experience before they even set foot in a clinic.

The Diversity of Newcastle Web Design Projects

Since 2002, we’ve worked with a vast number of organisations throughout the North East with each one having their own online objective. We’ve worked with a chocolate shop in Barnard Castle to a national supplier of oil & water tanks. We’ve worked with a large provider of care in the North East to successful engineering companies . We’ve worked with both start ups and established global brands. Our client base is diverse and every project is unique which is why we have always had a tailored approach to meet end goals.

Web Design Projects beyond the North East

As much as we enjoy working with our Newcastle organisations we also work beyond the North East. We’ve provided marketing support to draeger, an international leader in the fields of medical and safety technology. Since 2002 we have helped create Draeger’s advertising campaigns on a worldwide basis. We also continue to work with Juvela, the UK’s leading provider of essential gluten free foods for people medically diagnosed with coeliac disease. Working together with Juvela we create marketing items to push the brand through various channels. No matter what organisation we work with, every client is unique and we ensure the service and product we deliver meets and often exceeds their objectives.
